The firm was founded on the conviction that the global energy transition, the electrification of transportation, and the structural rebalancing of critical mineral supply chains together represent one of the defining investment opportunities of the coming decades — and that Africa, with its substantial unrealized mineral endowment, is positioned to play a central role in meeting that demand.

The firm’s primary geographic focus is on the Republic of Zambia and the Republic of Namibia, two jurisdictions with significant mineral prospectivity, established mining sectors, stable legal frameworks for foreign investment, and meaningful capacity for further capital deployment. Selective opportunities in adjacent African jurisdictions are evaluated as the firm’s portfolio develops.

Starward Capital invests across the mine development lifecycle. The firm’s principal focus is on greenfield development — the identification and structured advancement of prospective mineral assets from early exploration through resource definition, scoping, and pre-feasibility study. The firm complements its greenfield activity with selective evaluation of opportunities to acquire or invest in more advanced or operating assets where the firm’s capabilities create differentiated value.

Across all activities, Starward Capital operates to institutional governance standards. The firm adopts the International Finance Corporation’s Performance Standards on Environmental and Social Sustainability as its operating environmental, social, and governance framework. Portfolio investments are required to demonstrate alignment with these standards through pre-investment due diligence, investment-condition action plans, and ongoing monitoring.
